TRANSLATION AND INTERPRETING TODAY: RESEARCH AND PROFESSION

Dear Colleagues,
We are pleased to invite you to present your research from any area of translation and interpreting (T&I). This includes, but is not limited to the didactics of translation and specialised language, the theory and history of T&I, issues concerning professional T&I, terminology, translation criticism and the application of modern technologies in the translation process. We welcome you to participate in the International Academic and Professional Conference “Translation and Interpreting Today: Research and Profession”, which will be held on March 13 and 14, 2025, in-person at the premises of the Association or remotely.
The call is open to researchers from Serbia, the region and other countries. We particularly encourage young researchers to submit their presentations.
The conference aims to enhance the scholarly and professional approach to T&I through the exchange of knowledge, experience and best practices. The participants’ presentations will be published in the journal Prevodilac after a blind peer review process.
– Translation profession in theory and practice
– Specialised language, terminology (standardisation, terminology management, term bases), lexicology and lexicography
– Didactics of translation and specialised language teaching, use of artificial intelligence
– Artificial intelligence, machine translation, computer-assisted translation tools: possibilities and limitations, influence on the translation process, creativity in the processing of results, quality assurance issues
– Localisation, transcreation, adaptation
– Translation for minority groups (languages of minorities, refugees, migrants), cultural mediation
– Translation standards
– Labour market and translation
The registration fee for participants includes the collection of summaries, conference materials, a participation certificate, refreshments during the breaks and the publishing costs for the final version of the presentation.
In the case of applications with multiple authors, the registration fee is paid for one participant. If other authors attend the conference on-site, they pay the registration fee for attendees.
The registration period will commence on December 15, 2024.
After completing the payment of the registration fee, the participants and attendees are kindly asked to email the scanned version of the payment slip at: casopisprevodilac@gmail.com. The payment slip should be kept until the opening of the event. In case of cancellation of participation, no refund is possible. The costs of transportation, travel and accommodation are covered by the participants and attendees themselves.

Payments from abroad are only possible in EUR, and payment instructions will be sent to participants who are not from Serbia along with the notification of acceptance of their application.
The relevant amount should be paid in dinar equivalent valid on the payment day based on the middle exchange rate of the National Bank of Serbia.
